Monday Morning Memo: August 29, 2022

 



I.Praise and Thanks:
  • Thanks in advance for making our mini-Mountaineers feel "Safe, Seen, and Stretched" in our schoolhouse today! Your special efforts today will make such a positive difference in the lives of our kids!
II. Today's Events: 
  • The First Day of School!!! Here we go! 

III. Reminders and Updates:

A. The First Impression:
  • Remember to set the tone for the year by building relationships, setting high expectations, and establishing procedures. 
  • Today is your day to begin making that positive impact for our mini-Mountaineers. Let them know that you believe in them! 
B. Writing Journals:
  • Grade Levels are reminded to send a calendar invite of the writing journal unwrapping for this Thursday. Please send calendar invite by end of the day today. Thanks!

  • Her book, Safe, Seen, and Stretched, will be the title for the second optional book study. Consult the weekly memo for the link on the first upcoming optional book study.

  • Kori Trainor sent a Zoom link for car dismissal. Please be sure to have that up and running when do afternoon dismissal.

  I. Praise and Thanks: Thanks to Kim Britt and Jessica Hill for integrating Music in their classroom. I heard joyful sounds from our Kinder students! I appreciate the intentional efforts to uplift and motivate our mini-Mountaineers.  Thanks to Carla Clayton and Ayden Tackett for their efforts with our Book Fair! I appreciate the teachable moment they provided to our students on how sales tax is figured in a purchase. What a great way to make learning relevant in support of our Math SIT Goal! II.   Today Is The First Day of Hispanic Heritage Month! I have a copy of the amazing picture book, The Astronaut With A Song For The Stars: The Story of Dr. Ellen Ochoa.  Please let me know if you would like for me to visit your classroom and read it to our students.
