  Dear Academy Friends,  Thanks so much for your efforts to secure a proactive and productive conclusion to the 2nd Quarter! I am grateful for your efforts with meeting the Report Card deadline. Additionally, I appreciate first steps to do something new with student-led conferences. Mr. Daniels exemplifies The Portrait element of "being  committed to the school’s vision and mission." Congratulations to Alicia Kinzer and Heather Wham for recent social media recognition for being exemplars for "The Portrait of a Lab School Team Member." A special shoutout to Ms. Marshall's 5th Grade Class! On Friday, I was making rounds and I seized upon an opportunity on a teachable moment regarding Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The class was attentive, respectful, and asked excellent questions. I appreciate the efforts Ms. Marshall makes to build a classroom community. It was evident during my visit on Friday. II.
