III. Reminders and Updates:

A. No Parking in the Back
  • Please refrain from parking in the back of the building. 
  • Parking Spaces there are reserved for Pre-K Parents and Faculty. 
  • Also, please do not on that roadway or grass area in the back of the building. Pre-K Parents and Faculty do need clear access as they drive there in the morning and afternoon. We also need that area cleared in the event an ambulance or fire truck has to drive back there. 
B. Testing Updates:
  • Please be sure you have read Dr. Snow's important email entitled "Upcoming Winter Assessments." There is a schedule for those upcoming assessments along with some details in that email needing your attention. 
  • Testing Training is taking place for 3-5 Teachers from Kori Trainor on Thursday. Ms. Trainor is requesting that Grades 3-5 Teachers do the online testing tutorial with their respective students prior to scheduled testing. 
C. Art Donation Needed
  • Please pass on any empty water bottles and old markers to Megan Garner. She needs them for an Art project. Thanks!
D. Innovation Planning Feedback
  • Dr. Snow and I sent out a survey requesting your feedback on planning next steps for Innovation at the Academy. 
  • Please complete and submit that survey by 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 3. Thanks!

I appreciate the intentional efforts to uplift and motivate our mini-Mountaineers.  Thanks to Carla Clayton and Ayden Tackett for their efforts with our Book Fair! I appreciate the teachable moment they provided to our students on how sales tax is figured in a purchase. What a great way to make learning relevant in support of our Math SIT Goal! II.   Today Is The First Day of Hispanic Heritage Month! I have a copy of the amazing picture book, The Astronaut With A Song For The Stars: The Story of Dr. Ellen Ochoa.  Please let me know if you would like for me to visit your classroom and read it to our students.
