III. Reminders and Updates

A. March 15th Faculty/Staff Meeting & Early Release Day
  • March 15th is a scheduled Early Release Day. Click HERE for that schedule. 
  • We will meet at 1:00 p.m. in the Media Center. This is a required faculty and staff meeting for all. During this meeting,  Dr. Snow and I will share our Innovation Plan along the Innovation Committee Chairs. We anticipate this meeting taking two hours. It is important that we have this time to go over the upcoming next steps we take at the Academy for next year. 
B. Free ISTE Membership!

C.  PLTs This Week
  • K-5 PLTs are with Heather Horton of ERG for our continuing Standards-Based Grading PD. 
  • EC and ML Teachers are to choose a PLT to attend with a grade level. 
  • The Specialist PLT is canceled for this week. 
D. Attendance Reminder
  • Please be sure to complete classroom attendance by 9:00 a.m. daily. 
E. Academy Google Calendar & Invitations
  • If you have not done so already, please be sure that you add the Academy at Middle Fork Calendar to your Google Calendar Account. This will ensure that you receive information on any school events happening. 
  • Also, if you having any classroom and grade level events, please be sure to communicate and invite any teachers and/or staff who share your students. 
F. African Drumming Presentation with Dr. Shawn Roberts This Friday
  • We are planning on having Dr. Shawn Roberts return to the Academy for African Drumming presentations this Friday. 
  • Once we receive confirmation from Dr. Roberts,  a schedule will be shared with all.

  I. Praise and Thanks: Thanks to Kim Britt and Jessica Hill for integrating Music in their classroom. I heard joyful sounds from our Kinder students! I appreciate the intentional efforts to uplift and motivate our mini-Mountaineers.  Thanks to Carla Clayton and Ayden Tackett for their efforts with our Book Fair! I appreciate the teachable moment they provided to our students on how sales tax is figured in a purchase. What a great way to make learning relevant in support of our Math SIT Goal! II.   Today Is The First Day of Hispanic Heritage Month! I have a copy of the amazing picture book, The Astronaut With A Song For The Stars: The Story of Dr. Ellen Ochoa.  Please let me know if you would like for me to visit your classroom and read it to our students.
