I. Praise and Thanks: 

• Thanks to Melanie Hicks-Lane for all of her continued hard work and dedication! We got a Grade "A" for our internal audit visit! This is all due to Melanie's excellence on a daily basis. 

II. This Week's Events: 

Monday, March 27:

• 8:00 a.m.-Schoolwide Morning Meeting  via Zoom
• 8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.-Ed Direction IPG Grant Site Visit

Tuesday, March 28:

• Spring Pictures-See email from Denise Gallimore on this
• Testing: 3rd, 4th, & 5th Reading Check-In
• 3:00 p.m.-Faculty Meeting: Inclusive Practices PD with Caroline Beam

Wednesday, March 29:

• Testing: 3rd, 4th, & 5th Math Check-In

Thursday, March 30: 3rd Quarter Ends

• 8:00 a.m.-Schoolwide Morning Meeting via Zoom
• 9:00 a.m.-5th Grade Mad Science In-School Field Trip
• 12:00-1:00 p.m.-UNC System Presidential Scholar Site Visit
• 1:00-2:00 p.m.-Student-Staff Basketball Game

Friday, March 31-Optional Teacher Workday

• 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.-Alertus Beacon Install
• 3:00 p.m.-3rd Quarter Grades and 3-5 Verification Sheets Due

III. Reminders and Updates: 

A. Performance Management: Deadline-March 31st

• Please remember to complete the required self-appraisal by March 31st. This is required for all employees at the Academy. 
• Check your email from the university regarding this task required for all App State employees. 
• That email has all of the links needed to direct you to correct steps in Performance Management. 

B. Intent to Return: Deadline-March 28

• All Academy Employees must complete the Intent to Return form by March 28. 
• Click HERE to complete this required task. 

C. Visitors This Week: 

• Monday: Our IPG Grant Partners from Ed Direction will be at the Academy. They are visiting to get an in-person sense of the great things happening at the Academy. Please consult Dr. Reeder's email on this. 
• Thursday: UNC System Lab Schools Assistant Director Clay Smith is bringing the three UNC System Presidential Schools. They are coming to see the great things happening at the Academy. 

D. Faculty Meeting This Week: 

• We will have a Faculty Meeting this Tuesday in the Media Center. 
• Dr. Caroline Beam, NC New Teacher Instructional Coach, is leading a PD for the whole faculty/staff on Inclusive Practices. 

E. 3rd Quarter Grades: Deadline-March 31st

• All 3rd Quarter Grades and 3-5 Verification Sheets are due to Paula Anderson by 3:00 p.m. on March 31st. Ms. Anderson will have 3rd Quarter Attendance finalized by 11:00 a.m. K-2 Teachers will have attendance by then so they can input that data into the report cards. 

F. Student-Staff Basketball:

• This schoolwide event is scheduled for 1:00-2:00 p.m. on Thursday. 
• Be on the lookout for more information on this from Darron Daniels. 

G. March 31st Teacher Workday:

• March 31st is an optional teacher workday. If teachers are able to get grades completed before March 31, then you may opt to take a leave day. 
• All TAs will have to take a leave day for this date. 
• There are no required meetings or trainings scheduled for that day. If you are opting to work on that day as certified faculty/staff, then work hours are 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. and you may opt to work from home. 
• Please let Melanie Hicks-Lane of your plans for this day no later than this Thursday.
• The Alertus Beacons are supposed to be installed on that day. 

H. No PLTs This Week:

• Due to testing and grades being due, there are no PLTs this week.
