III. Reminders and Updates:

A. Tuesday Faculty Huddle Re: Assistant Principal Position
  • The Academy has received approval to post a new assistant principal position for the 23-24 school year. We want to provide more support all in addressing student behaviors. This position will be focusing on just that for the Academy.
  • We will have a quick faculty huddle in the main lobby on Tuesday at 2:50 p.m. I wanted to share with you in person a few things about this position. This gathering will be approximately 10 minutes.
  • If you are unable to make it to this quick huddle, then I do understand. I will be looking for feedback from all faculty/staff members regarding your thoughts on potential interview questions and ideal characteristics for an assistant principal at the Academy
B. Outdoor Learning Lab Spaces
  • We now have some new tables set up for outdoor learning experiences.
  • Thanks to Coach Phelps for setting up those tables!
  • This is a great opportunity to get some sunshine, fresh air, and movement into the learning experiences you building for our mini-Mountaineers.
C. Open Way Learning Visit This Wednesday
  • On Wednesday, our friends from Open Way Learning will be at the Academy.
  • They will be on hand to provide support for PBL and Makerspace classroom integration.
  • Stay tuned for an upcoming schedule on their visit.
D. Curriculum Listening Sessions
  • This is a reminder on the upcoming Curriculum Listening Sessions that Amie Snow has shared communication on previously. Please see her email with details.
  • We are looking for faculty and staff feedback on potential changes regarding our curriculum at the Academy.
  • You have the option to attend these sessions either in-person in the Media Center or via Zoom. Dr. Snow's email has the Zoom links.
  • The first session is Thursday, April 13 at 3:00 p.m.
