III. EVAAS Roster Verification: Action Required
  • Kori Trainor sent out an email to selected staff regarding EVAAS Roster Verification. 
  • Please be sure to read that important email and reach out to Kori if you need any support in completing this required task. 
  • Kori Trainor would like to meet with teachers by May 5, so please follow up on her request to schedule a time to meet. 
  • The state window for EVAAS Roster Verification opened on April 20 and closes on May 10. 
IV. Curriculum Listening Sessions:
  • Please be sure to see Dr. Amie Snow's email regarding follow-up from the Curriculum Review Listening Sessions. 
  • There is some important information that requires your attention. 
IV. Reminders and Updates

A. Supervision Reminder: 
  • As the weather gets nicer, please be extra vigilant with supervision in the hallways, bathrooms, and recess areas. 
B. Earth Day
  • An exciting day is on the horizon with Earth Day at The Academy this Monday! 
  • Our friends from our sister lab school in Elkin are coming to visit and we are going to make App State Lab School History with this gathering. 
  • Be sure to check Coach P's emails with details on the station rotations.
  • Dress comfortably for the weather! 
  • We will have many friends from App State visiting our campus, too! 
C. No PLTs This Week
  • PLTs for this week are cancelled. 
  • This extra time is a great opportunity to collaborate with colleagues on the upcoming May 10 Academy Showcase. 
  • The Mountaineers Champions for Change Workshop is also cancelled.
C. LETRS This Week
  • LETRS training is taking place this Wednesday and Thursday. 
  • Please refer to Heather Wham's emails on this. She did reach out to those who will need to cover classes for teachers who are attending this training. 
D. Academy Showcase
  • We have begun advertising the upcoming Academy Showcase scheduled for May 10 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. 
  • This event will feature the amazing student work taking place in Specials. 
  • Also, we have a special edition of Parent Power Hour taking place from 5:30-6:30 p.m. This is where we provide some education for parents and families on DIBELS and EOGs. 
  • Student-Led Conferences will take also take place. 
E. May 9th Faculty Meeting
  • Our next Faculty Meeting will take place on May 9th from 3:00-4:00 p.m. in the Media Center.
  • Dr. Amie Snow and I will respond to the Parking Lot Items shared from our last meeting on Innovation. We will also provide updates on plans for next year. 
F. Teaching License Submission
  • All certified educators are reminded to submit a digital copy of your current teaching license from DPI to Mary Logan Yancey by Friday, April 28th.
  • Mary Logan Yancey sent an email this past Tuesday. Her email is yanceyml@appstate.edu.
G. Co-Teaching Training-Save the Dates
  • We have upcoming Co-Teaching Training coming up for May, June, and July. 
  • I shared this in the Faculty Meeting Presentation Slide Deck sent last week. 
  • We are thrilled to have Dr. Christina Tschida of App State's Reich College of Education facilitating this training for us. 
  • Here are the dates to mark on your calendar for this Co-Teaching Training: 
    • Co-Teaching Initial Training: May 15 during PLTs
    • Co-Teaching Foundational Training: June 13, 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. for all staff
    • Co-Teaching Team Trainings: $200 stipend for all participants for one day training on one of the following dates with times TBD:
      • July 10
      • July 12
      • July 17

  • The End of Year Dates List and End of Year Checklist is being formulated. 
  • It will be sent out in an individual email shortly.
