  • As we approach testing this week, please know that I am very grateful for everyone's efforts all year to support our students' academic growth. Your belief in them is a life-changing and impactful. THANK YOU, Academy Friends!!!
  • Thanks to Kim Britt, Brittany Hendricks, Nancy Smoot, Paula Anderson, Denise Gallimore, Cindy Hall, Jazz Brown, Elif Erginer, Kori Trainor, Carla Clayton for their support and participation with our Kindergarten Screening! It was a successful event thanks to their dedicated efforts.

III. Reminders and Updates

A. Lemonade Stand Is Coming:
  • I am excited to support the Lemonade Stand this year with all of you! 
  • Please be sure to check out this student-centered activity! 

B. School Calendar & Room Assignment Meeting
  • We will gather in the Media Center at 3:00 p.m. 
  • Our purpose is for anyone to share ideas for events that need to be scheduled on the 2023-24 School Year. 
  • This information is being curated on a Jamboard. It is suggested you bring a laptop to follow along with the discussion. 
  • Curriculum Coaches will meet with Grade Level Teams to discuss Room Assignments. 
C. EOG Pep Rally
  • We have our Pep Rally scheduled at 1:00 p.m. in the Gym. 
  • K-2 students are asked to make signs of encouragement for our 3-5 students. K-2 Teachers are reminded to help make this happen. 
  • K-2 students are to line the hallway near the gym to hold up signs and cheer on the 3-5 students. 
  • We have some special guests scheduled to attend this event. 
D. #InstantPD
  • For our final #InstantPD for the school year, we have Carla Clayton and Allison Phelps leading this session. 
  • Note that this will take place on a TUESDAY instead of a Thursday. 
  • All are invited for a quick PD session of learning, connection, and networking. 
  • It's only 15 minutes. Grab an idea with friends on your way out the door! 


E. Reading EOG This Friday
  • We have our first End of Grade Test scheduled for this Friday. 
  • Kori Trainor will send out the schedule for that day. 
  • Let's remember to be that encouraging and uplifting presence for all our kids and each on this important day. 
F. DIBELS This Week
  • Heather Wham sent out a coverage schedule for DIBELS Testing. Please be sure to refer to the updated one sent. 
  • Click HERE for that schedule. 
  • As with the Reading EOG, let's remember to be that encouraging and uplifting presence for our all kids and each other for these important assessments. 
G. Co-Teaching Reading Assignment
  • Be sure to read the brief articles that Dr. Christina Tschida shared at the Co-Teaching Initial Training prior to the June 13th Co-Teaching Foundational Training. 
  • Those readings are very brief, but also very important in providing clarity for the Team-Based Teaching & Planning Model we are following for next year. 
  • If you need a copy, then please be sure to see me and I am happy to get you a copy.

  I. Praise and Thanks: Thanks to Kim Britt and Jessica Hill for integrating Music in their classroom. I heard joyful sounds from our Kinder students! I appreciate the intentional efforts to uplift and motivate our mini-Mountaineers.  Thanks to Carla Clayton and Ayden Tackett for their efforts with our Book Fair! I appreciate the teachable moment they provided to our students on how sales tax is figured in a purchase. What a great way to make learning relevant in support of our Math SIT Goal! II.   Today Is The First Day of Hispanic Heritage Month! I have a copy of the amazing picture book, The Astronaut With A Song For The Stars: The Story of Dr. Ellen Ochoa.  Please let me know if you would like for me to visit your classroom and read it to our students.
