III. Reminders and Updates

A. Teacher Appreciation Week
  • We have action-packed week of fun and surprises in honor of Teacher Appreciation Week!
  • Thanks to our AMF PTO and Dr. Hannah Reeder for supporting efforts this week! 
  • Please be sure you have read over the email from Dr. Reeder regarding coverage on Tuesday. 
B. Faculty Meeting 
  • Our May Faculty Meeting is scheduled for this Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. in the Media Center.
  • Snacks will be provided. 
  • Dr. Snow and I have important updates to share with everyone regarding next year's plans for grade level spans and room assignments. 
C. EVAAS Spring Roster Verification Due This Tuesday:
  • The window for EVAAS Spring Roster Verification is due on May 10. 
  • If this applies to you, then please be sure to complete this required task for both the school and state level. 
  • See Kori Trainor if you need any help in completing this very important task. 
D. Academy Showcase
  • This Wednesday from 5:30-7:30 p.m., we will welcome our families for the Academy Showcase. 
  • Academy Families will have opportunities to learn more about EOGs and DIBELS. 
  • Additionally, Academy Families will have a chance to interact with our Specialists and participate in Grade Level Student-Led Conferences. 
  • Please encourage families to attend this community event in your various networks.

I appreciate the intentional efforts to uplift and motivate our mini-Mountaineers.  Thanks to Carla Clayton and Ayden Tackett for their efforts with our Book Fair! I appreciate the teachable moment they provided to our students on how sales tax is figured in a purchase. What a great way to make learning relevant in support of our Math SIT Goal! II.   Today Is The First Day of Hispanic Heritage Month! I have a copy of the amazing picture book, The Astronaut With A Song For The Stars: The Story of Dr. Ellen Ochoa.  Please let me know if you would like for me to visit your classroom and read it to our students. It's a wonderful and inspiring book about an inspiring Space Pioneer.  See below for the book cover and a sample page from the book: I.
