    • III. Reminders and Updates:

    A. Faculty Meeting This Tuesday via Zoom
    • We have an important faculty meeting this Tuesdaty at 3:00 p.m. regarding tbe new Parent Bill of Rights legislation. 
    • Meghan Wills, Assistant General Counsel for Appalachian State University, will lead the meeting via Zoom. 
    • There is no need for us all to meet in the Media Center for this meeting. You will all access the meeting in your respective classrooms and workspaces. 
    • I will forward an email with information for accessing the Zoom meeting. 
    B. Planbook: 
    • We have purchased the online platform for writing, uploading, and storing lesson plans known as Planbook. 
    • All teachers will be required to upload lesson plans on this platform. 
    • Some of you have expressed an interest in the school using this resource and we are excited to now have a schoolwide account. 
    • Stay tuned for details on next steps and training. Teachers may receive an email from Planbook with details and directions. 
    C. Enrichment Friday:
    • For our next Enrichment Friday, an email will be sent on Wednesday with details on the schedule and club assignments/locations. 
    • Our mini-Mountaineers are really excited about the clubs and choice activities! It was wonderful seeing their joy at being a part of club/choice activity.

      I. Praise and Thanks: Thanks to Kim Britt and Jessica Hill for integrating Music in their classroom. I heard joyful sounds from our Kinder students! I appreciate the intentional efforts to uplift and motivate our mini-Mountaineers.  Thanks to Carla Clayton and Ayden Tackett for their efforts with our Book Fair! I appreciate the teachable moment they provided to our students on how sales tax is figured in a purchase. What a great way to make learning relevant in support of our Math SIT Goal! II.       Today Is The First Day of Hispanic Heritage Month! I have a copy of the amazing picture book, The Astronaut With A Song For The Stars: The Story of Dr. Ellen Ochoa.  Please let me know if you would like for me to visit your classroom and read it to our students. It's a wonderful and inspiring book about an inspiring Space Pioneer.  See below for the book cover and a sample page from the book: I.
