• This week is National School Counseling Week! We are grateful to have Elif Erginer with us at the Academy! Ms. E is such compassionate, student-centered individual. III. Reminders and Updates: 

A. Intention for Employment: 

• As we are making plans for staffing for the 2024-25 school year, I would like to have a gauge of everyone's intent to return. 
• Please complete the Intent to Return form at the link here, by Friday, February 16. 
• The intent to return is not a contract for employment. 
• If you have any questions about next school year, then please reach out to me. I am happy to sit down and have a conversation with you. 

B. Black History Month: 

• Please be sure to see Darron Daniels' email regarding our exciting upcoming events for Black History Month. 
• Also, as I shared during Schoolwide Morning Meeting, I am happy to come by during Morning Meeting or Closing Meeting to do a Black History Month Read Aloud. Please let me know and we can schedule something together. 

C. Schoolwide Recess: 

• We are at the end of our month-long iteration with Schoolwide Recess 2. 0. 
• For now, we will continue with our current plan that we have been running for the last month. 
• Admin and Curriculum Coaches will review the current state of our plan and discuss next steps. We will then share next steps with the faculty and staff. 
• In the meantime, please continue to share any feedback you might have from the last month in the "Schoolwide Recess 2.0 Ideas and Solutions document linked here. Your ideas and thoughts are invited as we think of ways to take Schoolwide Recess to the next level for our mini-Mountaineers. 

D. #InstantPD:

• Stop by the Main Lobby on Thursday, February 8 for #InstantPD! 
• This is a 15-minute session where a teacher is sharing an idea or instructional practice that can be put into practice on the following day!
• Come by at 3:00 p.m. for a quick, informal PD to add an instructional strategy to your toolbox! 
• Alicia Kinzer and Chantae Reynolds will facilitate a session on "Hands-On Blending."
• All are invited!
